Week 3

July 15, 16

One of our goals for improving the local restaurant is to make it foreigner-friendly. Since the restaurant didn't have a proper logo with English translation, we decided to design one ourselves.

Adding English and a distinguishable logo help not only foreigners but also Taiwanese to recognize the restaurant easily. I designed 3 drafts for us to pick and we ended up choosing the last. With some suggestions from Ray, I tweak the position and size of the English so that it's more readable.

Adding the steamed dumpling symbol and removing the 蒸餃 in the original design gives the logo more clarity and better visual impression.

The rest of the team worked together to design the new menu. We also add a QR code that is linked to the English menu.

Adding meat information allows people to recognize what to avoid if they have a dietary restriction.

July 17

We organized our Ping Xi observation schedule.

July 19

Our team (excluding me) shared their experiences working at UX design projects. I never had any, so I did a presentation on Service blueprint. Each intern introduced design thinking tools that they had used before. It's pretty amazing knowing what others had accomplished! They gave me more insight to design thinking, UX, and all the tools we need for the future.
